Blacklist Director Tendril geared up for girl’s night with this colorful campaign for Seagram’s Escapes, highlighting the myriad flavors of one of this summer’s hottest beverages. The films are a bold and poppy mix of CG and live action elements.
“We loved the brief for this campaign,” commented Tendril. “Creatively developing the different ways to transition between ‘parties’ and introduce dynamic elements into each scene was our favorite task.”
To create the right look, the Tendril team spent a good deal of time in the design phase of the project, sketching out all the vignettes and experimenting with different combinations for how the elements would animate in and out. During production they also had to make sure that all the fruits, sweets, and drinks looked convincingly delicious, by using just the right amount of texture shading and lighting to achieve a realistic look.
Tendril also shot a hand model to interact with the animated CG elements. “We wanted the hands to look perfectly on par with a girl’s night out, and so we thoroughly researched what’s currently out there in terms of accessories,” Tendril added. “We now know 2014’s latest jewelry trends better than Vogue!”
