Amber Guild Joins McCann as New York CEO

McCann announced today that Amber Guild will join as CEO of its New York office starting in January 2023. Amber will report directly to Chris Macdonald, global chairman and CEO, McCann. 

Amber brings a powerful mix of experience and influence to McCann. During her two-decade career Amber has helped to shape the future of modern marketing and led transformation for some of the world’s most iconic brands and brings a track record of innovation-driven growth across advertising, publishing, media and technology.  

Amber joins from Grey where she was most recently the CEO of the New York office. From 2017 to 2021, Amber was president of The New York Times T Brand Studio leading its advertising and events business. While with The Times, Amber also co-led its Diversity, Equity and Inclusion strategy which launched the largest cultural transformation at the company has seen in its 169-year history.

Amber brings a wealth of leadership experience working at organisations including Ogilvy & Mather, Saatchi & Saatchi and COLLINS. In 2016 she was named one of Ad Age's 'Women to Watch'; sits on the boards and advisory councils of SATURDAY MORNING, 3% Movement, VCU Brandcenter, and is a founding member of CHIEF – an organisation focused on connecting and supporting women executive leaders.

Amber’s appointment follows several new business wins for the New York agency, including Post Cereals, Prudential and Osmo. McCann New York was also recently named USA Agency of the Year at the Gerety Awards 2022 and won Agency of the Year at the 2021 Webby’s.
