Leo Burnett releases Adam & Eve-inspired ad from 'Mayhem' campaign
A new spot from Allstate’s Mayhem campaign, by Leo Burnett, was broadcast immediately after the match, capitalising on the fascinating timing stories of this year’s Bowl. This Super Bowl was a plain for some of the most fascinating stories of the event ever. Two brothers squared off as head coaches, one of the greatest players of all time was set to call it a day and a quarterback with just nine starts aimed to make history. Eyes were set to be fixated on the culmination of these stories at the final whistle.
So what did all of this have to do with Allstate? Because in the end, all of these storylines of 'timing' culminated at one place: the end of the game. Brothers embraced, all-time greats spoke and Allstate unveiled a special Mayhem spot in Position 1A right when the game ended. In this 'blockbuster' Mayhem story, we take a trip through time – and see Mayhem in action from the Garden of Eden through some of the most significant, 'mayhemic' events ever. The end copy says it all: “Mayhem is everywhere. Always has been. Always will be.”
Facebook played a pivotal role in the build up to the spot. Over 1.5million people have liked the Mayhem page for its drip fed updates, which include “anything from your blind spot to a raccoon in your attic”.
