Alex Lubar Joins McCann North America as CMO

It was announced today that Alex Lubar has been appointed Chief Marketing Officer for McCann Erickson North America, focusing on new business and growth.  He joins McCann, effective July 9, 2012, from a similar post at Grey Advertising.  He will be based in New York.

He will be a terrific addition to our North American team.  He is solutions-focused, and truly enjoys the complexity and challenges of today’s business environment.” Lubar will report to Summy and work with McCann leadership in the U.S. and Canada.

For the past three years, Lubar has been a key leader of the New Business group at Grey, during which time the team has had an 80%+ success rate across a range of categories, including finance, technology, retail, food, beverages and pharma.  Previously, he was an Account Director at BBH, where he co-led the launch of New York City and Company’s brand campaign and headed the Johnnie Walker account for which he led multi-channel programs for the company’s Blue and Gold labels.  Earlier responsibilities included three of that agency’s other marquee brands, Levi Strauss, Miller Lite and Bushmills Whiskey. He began his agency career with Rapp Collins and The Ad Store.
