Gear, Oculus, Cardboard… you couldn’t move on the Croisette this year for Virtual Reality headsets – and attendees couldn’t get enough of it. Even the LBB & Friends Beach had its own VR demo (courtesy of VR.SE). It may not be mainstream yet, but as far as the ad industry is concerned 2015 is the year virtual reality became ‘a thing’. So we decided to catch up with AKQA’s Head of Emerging Technologies (and Cannes Mobile juror), Andy Hood, to pick his brains and find out what this means for advertising…
