Aesop Agency has appointed Ben Callis to the role of ECD, effective immediately.
Callis joins from a highly productive two-year stint as creative director/producer at Breakneck Films working across a broad portfolio of projects including short films, documentaries, gaming development and feature length content.
Prior to this, Callis was group creative director at Huge and before that creative director at Sapient Nitro where he took on the challenge of integrating creative ideas into the heart of technology. In his four years at Sapient he developed award-winning work for a roster of big brand clients including; Converse, Footlocker, Ladbrokes and McLaren Automotive.
Commenting on his new role at Aesop Agency Callis says: “Aesop is one of the few creative agencies that I feel is genuinely integrated. Their ethos of ‘creativity powered by narrative thinking’ gives them a freedom of approach and an edge that is difficult to find in most agencies - truly end-to-end capability. I want to further drive and develop the creative approach and output of the agency – producing award winning multi-platform experiences that better engage the increasingly fragmented way people consume the world and connect audiences with brands on a cultural level.”
Callis will head up the Aesop studio and will have overall responsibility for all creative output. His appointment bolsters a creative team – broadening the capabilities for both new and existing clients.
Commenting on the decision to appoint Callis, Roger Hart, CEO, Aesop Agency says: “Ben has an impressive track record with an inherent understanding and passion for storytelling with the ability and experience to bring those stories to life across multiple platforms and media. He is a creative through-and-through with an unerring ability to spot and nurture talent. Finding the right ECD is a critical hire for us and with Ben we have found someone who ticks all the boxes. We are delighted to welcome him to Aesop.”
