Advertising Week Europe has been postponed until the Autumn due to the growing concerns over Coronavirus, the organisers announced today.
The advertising conference, which was scheduled to take place next week at London’s Picturehouse Central between March 16th and 19th, will now happen on the week of September 14th to 17th.
In a statement issued to speakers, executive director Elizabeth Petra said: “Given the growing concerns over public health and safety due to the developing Coronavirus (COVID-19) situation, we have proactively made arrangements to move the planned programme to Autumn 2020.
“We are so sorry to make any changes to our programme or event when we know the time and effort that everybody puts into speaking and attending Advertising Week.
“But as you know, we pride ourselves on being an inclusive and accessible platform and we felt it was critical to ensure the event could be comfortably and safely attended by British, European and our global delegates. We also, of course, want all our speakers to feel confident in their decision to present during these challenging times.”
The postponement is the latest in a list of
major industry events being disrupted by the COVID-19 outbeak. The virus has already caused plans for Dubai Lynx, MIPTV, Mobile World Congress, Adobe’s live summit, ADFEST, The One Show and SXSW to be either postponed, cancelled or disrupted in some way.
