adidas, in partnership with Foot Locker, have released P.O.D.System Originals Sessions - a series of lifestyle films harnessing the creative spirit of European influencers to launch the brand’s new shoe, the P.O.D.System.
The campaign, created by international agency Iris Amsterdam, saw influencers and artists from London and Paris brought together to create a film representing their respective cities encapsulating the P.O.D.System’s ethos - “great alone, better together”.
In London, visual artist Mangua, film director Kalvador Peterson and music star Yxng Bane created a film inspired by their combined vision of London, while in Paris director Chris Macari, choreographer Nelson and music producer Kyu Steed’s film took inspiration from a story of movement through their home city of Paris.
Iris Amsterdam worked with director Josh Cohen to produce episodic social content reflecting the creative process behind each film. Episodes were released ahead of the film premieres in London and Paris on 23 August.
adidas Brand Activation Manager comments: “The way Iris Amsterdam translated the product story – three elements brought together and the “great alone, better together” tagline – into a local cultural context through unique collaborations, really spoke to the brand spirit. This is what adidas is all about.”
The P.O.D.System sees three of adidas’ most iconic technologies – the BOOST heel (2013), the Point of Deflection bridge (1989) and the high rebound EVA forefoot (1995) - brought together from the archive with over a decade of development culminating in this new original shoe. Each of the films, along with the behind-the-scenes content, reflect this new union.
Five of the teaser episodes are live on Foot Locker Europe’s Instagram highlights (@FootLockerEU), with the last episode of Paris going live today. The influencer films are available via the links below.
