Lacyn Clarke and Chloe Heatlie of Adelphoi Music chat with Jo Rae Daly at Kraken Films

A Little More Conversation is back with its second episode, created to promote honest and meaningful discussions about mental health and wellness within the Advertising Industry.

The hosts of the show, Lacyn Clarke and Chloe Heatlie of Adelphoi Music, talk to industry professionals about their experiences and observations of mental health and the daily challenges that we all might face at some point in our careers.

In their latest episode, they talk to Jo Rae Daly, executive producer and owner of the London  based service production Kraken Films. With a 20-year career spanning advertising, digital and commercial production, Jo opens up about her mental health struggles and the challenges of  running a new business during the pandemic.

Diagnosed with clinical depression in her early twenties Jo shares her mental health experiences throughout her career and how she takes care of her wellness today, whilst providing us with some  practical tools and tips to managing our own moods and anxiety.

"So, this year, I just think it's a really good thing that people are just a bit more honest and also people that are a little bit further along in their careers to say to anybody and everybody but particularly younger people coming up in the industry, ‘it's okay not to be okay’.” Jo Rae Daly,  Kraken Films.

The pandemic has touched all areas of life: health, family, lifestyle, and in a significant way, businesses. Only five months old, Kraken Films was sent into its first lockdown and with that came its own set of challenges. Jo shares how she adapted her business and daily routine to work through  the pandemic and offers some positive pearls of wisdom on how to overcome a challenging year.

"2020 has been a year of challenges for us all, but some have taught us that the new normal might actually be a good thing after all.” Jo Rae Daly, Kraken Films.

Lacyn and Chloe insist they are not medical professionals, just two gals hoping to open up the conversation surrounding mental health over a cup of tea, albeit virtually for the moment.
