Miranda Hipwell, chief client officer at adam&eveDDB, where she has worked since 2012, is to take over as the agency’s chief executive officer. She takes up her new role immediately.
Miranda – long-time close partner of Richard Brim, Martin Beverley and Tammy Einav – was made managing partner in 2017 and became group managing director in 2021.
Over her years at the agency, she has spearheaded some of its key client relationships –including John Lewis, Mars and most recently Amazon; driven development of new capabilities – such as social, client content studios and data-driven marketing; and led the development of many DEI initiatives, including adam&everyone, First Bite and #SheTakesOver. She’s recently spoken of the benefits of the agency’s industry leading Four&Flex model – an initiative to encourage the agency’s staff into the office four days a week, with flexibility – which the agency cites as one of the key drivers of its recent success.
Miranda joined adam&eveDDB as an account director on John Lewis, which she led through a highly creative innovation period, alongside Google and Diageo. Prior to joining the agency, she worked at Saatchi & Saatchi and Leo Burnett.
She sits on the European Association of Communications Agencies’ International Agencies Council.
Miranda said, “To say I am delighted to become the CEO of adam&eveDDB doesn’t quite cover it. There’s so much good here – the work, the people, our culture and clients; to create the right conditions for future growth in every aspect is an incredible opportunity. I couldn’t be prouder of the agency and know our creativity and energy will continue to drive success for us and our partners.”
Tammy Einav, adam&eveDDB executive chair, said, “Miri has been a key part of this agency’s success for the last twelve years – her love, experience and commitment to all areas of the business come through in everything she does. I know she will lead the agency with a clear vision and all of us behind her."
adam&eve DDB’s clients include CALM, Amazon, Lloyds Banking Group, Marmite and PlayStation. It was the most awarded UK agency at Cannes Lions 2023 – winning 19 Cannes Lions, including a Film Grand Prix for the Campaign Against Living Miserably’s The Last Photo – and at the Campaign Big Awards 2022. It won D&AD’s Creative Agency of the Year Award in May this year.
