Bukola joins from Havas, where she has worked in the role of diversity and inclusion manager

adam&eveDDB has appointed Bukola Garry to the new role of head of diversity, equality and inclusion as it embeds its pro-actively anti-racist and positively inclusive philosophy at the heart of its business.

Reporting to Joint CEO’s, Mat Goff and Tammy Einav, Bukola joins from Havas, where she has worked since 2018 in the role of diversity and inclusion manager.

In addition to her central role at adam&eveDDB, Bukola will also work with other DDB Group agencies – including cain&abel, Gutenberg and DDB Remedy – to embed a commitment to the principles of diversity, equality and inclusion.

Her appointment is one of a series of diversity initiatives by adam&eveDDB, which started with an audit of the entire business and partnerships. This identified systems and processes which need breaking down to achieve the ambition of being a business which is pro-actively anti-racist and positively inclusive, and will see overhauls of recruitment and internships policies, talent management systems and the way suppliers are chosen. New staff welfare and support frameworks are being planned.

Beyond its own doors, adam&eveDDB supports industry-wide diversity programmes like the Brixton Finishing School, the Ideas Foundation, Creative Equals, Media Trust’s ‘Creativity Works’,  the 10-week Joined Up Thinking course, Just Runners, #10000BlackInterns and the Marketing Debuts, as well as being a committee member of the Unstereotype Alliance.

Bukola started her career as a media planner at ZenithOptimedia, working on Procter & Gamble. However, before joining Havas, she changed career paths and moved into the social sector where she led the development of initiatives and training in partnership with local authorities, trusts and funds to create employment pathways for underrepresented talent.

She also sits on the advisory board of two Black-owned SMEs - Blanguage and TING, and is a mentor for Apprentice Nation and judge for this year’s Female Frontiers Awards.

Bukola Garry said: “Working in the Diversity & Inclusion space means having the opportunity to learn, inform and encourage dialogue around bias, identity and representation. I’m looking forward to taking my experience of learning from people and their different experiences and using this to influence a better and more inclusive business culture at adam&eveDDB.”

Tammy Einav and Mat Goff, joint CEOs, adam&eveDDB said: “adam&eveDDB is on a journey to becoming a pro-actively anti-racist and positively inclusive agency. Bukola has great experience and a huge amount of energy to bring to this new role which will lead the way in embedding diversity, equality and inclusion at the heart of our agency and at the heart of our business strategy.”
