Youview, the set top box backed by BBC, ITV, C4, C5, Arqiva, Talk Talk and BT, has launched its new campaign. Created by adam&eveDDB, the advertising shows how Youview brings together people’s favourite shows from the last seven days, in one easy to use place.
To bring this to life, the Daleks, Alan Carr, Gary Barlow, and Noddy, to name but a few, were all projected onto buildings throughout the country and shown hurrying towards someone’s living room, and a Youview box.
It was written by Aidan McClure and Laurent Simon, directed by Christian Bevilacqua, with the post-production at MPC, the advert marks the first marketing for the launch of the brand.
Other campaign activity also serves to highlight Youview’s unique and simple way of scrolling back to watch the last 7 days of catch up TV. Tactical outdoor and digital placements remind people they haven’t missed their favourite show if they use Youview, whilst also introducing the other key features of the product.
All of this is underpinned by the core message that the time to watch catch up TV on your laptop is now over.
The media was planned and bought by OMD.
Steve Conway, Head of Marketing at Youview said: “Our multi-media campaign, alongside the impending launch of YouView via BT and TalkTalk, really does mark the arrival of YouView to masses. Our activity will communicate that YouView is 'Extraordinary TV for everyone' by demonstrating that it's the new and easy way to get digital TV plus 7 day catch up, HD and on demand – all in one box - subscription free.”
