Visitors vote for Cannes ACT Tributes

Last week, the ACT Responsible exhibition was open to the public at the Cannes Palais des Festivals. Visitors were very active in voting for associative or commercial campaigns which have touched them most either via ballots or online. Campaigns were grouped by four themes: the planet, solidarity, violence and education.

At 4pm on Thursday, Bernard Brochand, Mayor of Cannes and ex-president of DDB International, handed out the "Cannes ACT Tributes" – in recognition of the work carried out by agencies from around the globe. Agencies which are committed to lend their creativity and services to organisations and the causes they defend. The Tributes were presented by Hervé de Clerck, Founder & Dreamleader of AdForum.com and ACT Responsible and given out by the Mayor along side Jacques Séguéla, Vice Chairman and Director, Havas Worldwide and Ivan Pierens, Creative Director W&Cie.

Over 5500 votes were collected, with the most popular campaigns awarded, as follows:

Since the first exhibition in 2002, the city of Cannes has been supporting the work of ACT Responsible, a not-for-profit association.

“This exhibition is the link between the festival of creativity and the people of Cannes. It enables them to discover another facet to the world of advertising and to understand the importance of its role in awakening consciousness relating to social and environmental issues,” said Bernard Brochand, Mayor of Cannes. Mr Brochand believes in the power of creativity.

The public’s votes are unique as normally campaigns are judged and voted upon by professionals. The “Cannes ACT Tributes” are a true recognition of agency talent and enabling us to better understand the issues which most affect the citizen.

“Each year, and for the past 12 years, loyal followers impatiently await the unveiling of the new collection. This year we have put in place an online voting system, via social networks and the association’s website, in order to offer access to a wider number of voters,” said Hervé de Clerk, founder of the association.

A word about the association: ACT Responsible is a not-for-profit association which aims to raise awareness among people on and about social and environmental issues, by showing the very best global communication campaigns covering those issues.www.act-responsible.org
