Creative agency Accomplice today announces two new hires, bolstering its senior leadership team in the lead up to 2024. The appointments reflect two years of impressive growth since the agency’s inception at the end of 2021, which has seen it awarded clients across the UK, USA, France and The Netherlands.

Clementine Barker joins the agency as managing partner, whilst Heather Griffiths takes on the role of strategy director, adding a wealth of expertise across strategy and client leadership to a leadership team headed up by co-founders, Ryan Lietaer, CEO and Mark Hunter, executive creative director.

Boasting an impressive career in creative agencies spanning 14 years, Clementine began her journey at JWT in London, before moving to Grey in New York. As part of Grey, she worked on the agency’s most important North American client, P&G. She then joined the digital agency Big Spaceship to lead the YouTube business. Most recently back in London, Clementine has worked at BMB and Isobel.

Clementine brings a blend of client and agency leadership experience to her new role of managing partner. In this position, she will be charged with leading the day to day business of the agency with specific focus on key client relationships and organic growth.

Clementine Barker, managing partner at Accomplice, comments, “Accomplice has a strong reputation for innovation and creative excellence. The opportunity to work with such a highly talented and experienced team at such an exciting time in their growth trajectory was just the opportunity I have been looking for. I’m excited to be part of an agency that’s shaping the future of the industry.”

Heather Griffiths’ extensive career in brand strategy has seen her work in London and New York, solving client problems for numerous global brands. She helped to bring the world’s first interactive t-shirt to market for Ballantine’s Whisky and at RKCR/Y&R, Heather worked for clients including the BBC, Lloyds Bank and the Royal British Legion’s Poppy Appeal, which won an IPA and Effie effectiveness award.

At VML in New York, Heather helped Optimum build its brand in the crowded US telco market, reframed gun violence as a health crisis, and brought ice cream on demand to hungry Americans for Unilever. Returning to VCCP in London, Heather worked to change post-pandemic travel behaviour for TfL, and launch the Elizabeth Line.

As strategy director at Accomplice, Heather will continue to build out the agency’s strategic capabilities, find new answers for client problems and, on a personal level, have the opportunity to be a part of something new, building an organisation that both clients and industry talent will be excited about.

Heather Griffiths, strategy director at Accomplice, says, “Accomplice clearly stood out to me as an agency with ridiculous firepower. It was evident that Ryan and Mark were ambitious industry grown ups - but who were more excited than ever about the business and motivated to build something new. There’s an emphasis on great work, but never at the expense of solving real client problems at the top table (perfect for a Strategist!). I immediately felt a culture of openness, respect, agility - and a good dose of North American positivity.”

Ryan Lietaer, founder, CEO Accomplice, said of the appointments, “As we make the turn into 2024, Accomplice is more equipped than ever to serve the world’s most ambitious clients and we have the leadership talent we need for the next chapter of our journey. Mark and I couldn’t be more proud of the talent we’ve attracted in Clem and Heather.”
