In these strange times the world finds itself in, Aardman directors used their creativity to spread public awareness of the Covid-19 outbreak.
Initially inspired by World War Two propaganda posters, here are a selection of animations and illustrations, that tackle the issues of social distancing, to supporting the NHS and simple advice on how to protect yourself.
From the lo-fi looping digital GIFs that Gav Strange created for his LED screen at home, to Dan Binns’s mundane but beautiful comic strip about panic buying sausages and then his simple ‘Wash Your Hands’ loop, Åsa Lucander’s thoughtful illustration about people feeling isolated and lonely at this time, to Danny Cappozi’s characterful celebration of the NHS, Simone Giampaolo’s playful ‘Flatten the Curve’ Animation, to Rich Webber’s insanely cheerful and humorous looping dogs at a window.
All Aardman artists produced these pieces of work while in lockdown at home, and as you can see they’re an extremely, rich and diverse bunch of creative people, who respond well to both physical and creative restraints!
Enjoy, share and keep coming back as we add more pieces to the gallery.
