The phenomenon that is Love Island has been the talk of the town this summer; even Liam Gallagher has announced he’s a big fan, admitting during an interview at Glastonbury that he'd tuned out from the music festival so he could tune in to Love Island.
ITV has nurtured Love Island for the last three years, and has created a show that is even beating Big Brother in the ratings. The BBC recently reported that “Last year Love Island exploded, with an average of 1.4 million fans tuning in daily to watch. The show became must-see viewing amongst mainly female (67.4%) viewers and under 35s (63.6%).
Scheduled against Channel 5's Big Brother, about 1.2 million people are currently tuning into the sunny island escapes in Mallorca - 200,000 more than those watching the action in rainy Borehamwood.”
A-MNEMONIC Music wrote the theme tune for the show, and were also asked to write additional new music to help emphasise the ‘manipulative emotional rollercoaster’ that the contestants have been put through.
