In just a few months, a simple five-letter online puzzle has taken the world by storm - yep, I’m talking about Wordle.
Having only launched in October 2021 and with an average of 90 daily users in November, it is estimated that over two million people now play every day, and I’m one of them (53 day streak thank you very much!). With the recent purchase by The New York Times, Wordle is only getting bigger.
As an English Language graduate, I’ve always had a soft spot for words and language, so it’s been a real joy to see so many people who may not have had that same interest before become completely invested in this world. For some, it’s become the perfect kick start to their day and a better alternative to endlessly scrolling on Twitter, Instagram, TikTok and all the other social media platforms that take up way too much of our time. For me personally, I love sitting down to do my Wordle after a busy day at work and find it really helps engage my brain in something else!
If you’re anything like me, you spend a good five minutes looking around your surroundings, searching for that perfect starter word (or maybe you have your go-tos?!) or words with a good number of vowels in…well look no further! I’ve combined my two loves of music and language and have a number of tracks for you from our incredibly vast catalogue, all consisting of 5 letter word titles to get you inspired and keep that streak going!
