A Giant Chocolate Hen is the Star of VCCP's New Asda Campaign

On Sunday night, during ITV’s newest drama Dr. Thorne, Asda launched its Easter campaign - this year featuring a 30ft chocolate hen.

The 60 second ad, which sees the giant chocolate hen delivered to an Asda supermarket in order to lay giant chocolate eggs for its customers, demonstrates how seriously Asda takes Easter – what other supermarket has its own hen hand-delivering Easter eggs?

The ad is running on TV throughout the Easter period and is accompanied by press, outdoor, radio and social. We have also created a spoof news channel to tie in with the social media drive. The channel, known as NewsHD, sees news anchors Shaun Shawn and Peter Bird reporting on some strange sightings in ‘Shrope-shire’ of a giant chocolate egg and worse, a worryingly large footprint!
