The Marshall Plan for Moms, led by Girls Who Code Founder Reshma Saujani, is launching the 'Moms Deserve More Flower Store', an online flower shop highlighting the true value of mothers’ work—and the true cost of adequately thanking them.
Created by SS+K, the shop features bouquets like The Unpaid Work Bouquet, The Lack of Childcare Bouquet, and The Paid Leave Bouquet, each priced according to data showing the unpaid work and broken policies impacting moms.
Stevie Archer, executive creative director, SS+K, comments: "On Mother’s Day when everyone is thinking about how they can honour and thank moms with cards and flowers, most aren’t thinking about the very real economic costs of motherhood. My own mom prioritised taking care of my brother and I for most of her career, and I saw first-hand what kind of opportunities and earnings she had to sacrifice. By selling Mother’s Day bouquets at prices that represent the value of unpaid labour moms provide, we’re making the issue undeniably tangible, and making a real case for the necessity of the Marshall Plan for Moms."
