What do non-profit organizations like Surfrider, Ronald McDonald House, LA Food Bank, and Seal Beach Animal Care Center have in common? They are all part of a one-day volunteer outreach program, named “Saatchi Good Day” developed by Torrance based, ad agency, Saatchi & Saatchi LA.
Once a year, Toyota’s creative advertising agency shuts down their office for a full day, donating their staff and time to volunteer at multiple charities around the region. Beyond the typical monetary donations, food and clothing drives, and bake sales, Saatchi Good Day takes philanthropy to the next level by dedicating a full day to make a difference in the local community.
“Saatchi Good Day is a very important way to keep us connected with the community that we live and work in,” said SSLA President Chuck Maguy. “It’s something employees look forward to every year, and it’s one of the reasons why some employees chose to work at Saatchi. It’s vital that we take this day once a year to give back to our local community.”
This year there are a total of 17 charities, with 400 people volunteering. The charities range from hospitals, to working with children, animal shelters, and environmental causes. Saatchi Good Day originated in the early 90’s when small volunteering gestures lead to the development of the Saatchi Community Involvement Team.
