72andSunny Sydney Appoints Luke Martin as Head of Product

72andSunny Sydney has appointed Luke Martin as head of product, leading the creative output in Australia, from the global company’s Manly office.

During his seven years on the US West Coast he led Facebook’s augmented and virtual reality team Oculus as executive creative director. He was also a senior creative at Apple in Cupertino where he helped set the vision and aesthetic for a suite of product campaigns. He has previously worked at TBWA/Media Arts Lab in Los Angeles and Sydney.

An Aussie, Luke recently returned to Sydney, and he joins from a stint at BMF.

“Based on how our business/industry is evolving, it was super important that we have someone as modern, commercially minded, and fluid in how they approach problem solving, and when meeting Luke we found that. His varied, and fresh for this market experience, make him an ideal partner to help deliver the variety of things we do with client partners. From new packaging design for Little Creatures, to landing new products for Google in the market, to a logo mark and visual system for Infigen, to luxury content for Paspaley, to a global comms platform for Chubb Insurance, we are already seeing his impact, and are stoked for more,” said Chris Kay, CEO, 72andSunny APAC.

“In a fragmented world I believe in the power of creative solutions that are un-tethered to a specific format. 72andSunny Sydney has crafted a set of unique product offerings to help brands solve business problems with a holistical lense. The opportunity to further drive this way of thinking, and to develop not just high class creative but innovative methods that deliver ideas across all touchpoints of a brand is extremely exciting. I have no doubt this will be a fun journey which will produce interesting and effective output,” said Luke Martin.

Luke joins the management team together with Ross Berthinussen, head of strategy, Tara Jaijee, head of growth, and David Williams, head of finance APAC.

The appointment follows new client partnerships for 72andSunny Sydney with Chubb, Lion’s Toohey’s Extra Dry and Little Creatures, Infigen and recent work for Google, Uber and Byron Bay Brewery.
