Drawing from the experience and inspiration of the first iteration of 72U, 72andSunny has redesigned its experimental creative program and is now accepting applications for 72U’s second class. The focus of 72U is to cultivate the next generation of brave and generous leaders for the creative industry.
“We wanted to start this school to build the kind of hybrid talent that we like to employ at 72andSunny,” said the agency’s CEO John Boiler. “Developing strategic leaders and problem solvers is a top priority for us, and this school will allow for inspiration to flow seamlessly between 72andSunny and 72U.”
72andSunny has appointed Maria Scileppi, artist and former Director of the Chicago Portfolio School, to curate a learning experience that will explore the intersection of creativity, culture, brand strategy and technology. As 72U’s new Director, Scileppi is responsible for coordinating structured classes, guest speakers, assignments and an agency mentor program that will foster big thinking and creative risk-taking. 72U is a free, 12-week, fully integrated agency experience.
“I want to open up the participants’ minds to new ways of problem solving that is focused on the process, rather then just the portfolio,” said Maria Scileppi, Director of 72U. “This program will, without-a-doubt, open doors for professional opportunities.”
The full program details, including how to apply, can be found at 72u.org. Applications will be accepted now through April 5. While there is no program tuition, participants must contribute $1,000 towards the costs of their final project.
