2AM Signs Comedy Director Jim Owen

Jim Owen joins 2AM’s arsenal of top comedy directing talent. 

He has worked with with comedians, actors and celebrities alike, including; Diane Morgan (Philomena Cunk, Motherland, After Life), Joe Wilkinson, Sean Walsh, Greg James, Taylor Swift, Dua Lipa and Rita Ora.

Jim also writes, directs and edits short films, ’The Priest’ and ‘Good Grief’ were both selected for The BFI’s London Comedy Film Festival. ’The Priest’ was recently shortlisted for 1.4’s Flying High and garnered a Staff Pick on Vimeo.

Aly Moffat, exec producer, said: “The thing that excites me most about Jim’s work is his obvious eye for casting. In comedy casting and timing is everything, and Jim clearly knows how to get the best out of the actors he works with. I also love that he writes alongside directing which means he has a deep understanding of what works in a comedy script and isn’t afraid to bring that to the table”. 

Jim himself said: "I’m really thrilled to be joining 2AM, they seem like a very sound bunch who’ve been there and done it. So many of their directors are right up my street - Armando Iannucci, Michael Winterbottom, Becky Martin. And someone told me they have a bar in the production office, too, which is also right up my street! So it’s win win”.
