20something Promotes Fran Docx to Strategy Partner

The promotion follows Fran’s instrumental role in driving agency growth and new business success in 2021

20something has promoted Fran Docx to strategy partner, to further drive agency growth and new business success, and build on the creative studio’s strategic capabilities. The promotion follows a storming 2021 for the business, where Fran helped 20something grow its revenue by 44% and see the founders secure full ownership of the company. 

Joining founders Andrew Barnard and Will Thacker on the board and leadership team, Fran’s remit will include further building the strategy team at 20something and keeping insight at the heart of the work, with a particular focus on emerging culture, re-evaluating consumerism and digital footprints, both for youth audiences and the brands that serve them.

As strategy director, Fran helped bring in a slew of nine new project clients in 2021, across finance, retail, sport and gaming sectors and included supporting sofa-in-a-box company Swyft in its first ATL brand campaign and The Woolmark Company to create its first global eco-campaign. Docx also led the strategy that brought a new energy, tone and edge to Chelsea F.C.’s long-standing creative platform ‘It's a Chelsea Thing’ in launching the 21/22 home kit.

On the appointment, co-founder and managing partner Andrew Barnard said: “Fran has played a crucial part in our transition from start-up to next-generation creative company, and it’s no coincidence that 20something’s business performance and growth has consistently exceeded plan in the two years since she joined us. For all her methodical and meticulous planning talent, those that have worked with Fran will recognise the passion, quick-wit, honesty and impatience with bullshit that makes her promotion to the board as Strategy Partner such an important one for 20something.”

Fran joined 20something in January 2020 having worked with Thacker and Barnard previously at 18 Feet & Rising on the Gamble Aware, Kopparberg and Nando’s accounts. An APG Gold winning strategist, she has held planning positions at some of the biggest names in the industry, including Saatchi & Saatchi, Crispin Porter and M&C Saatchi. In her spare time, Fran also runs a training program for an international community of over 2,000 strategists through Groupthink.

Fran will work across all agency clients including EA Games, The Woolmark Company, Swyft and Moneybox.
