The Midas Awards World’s Best Financial Advertising™ announces the 2013 Midas Report rankings. Unveiled in 2010, the annual Midas Report recognizes and ranks the most successful global companies in the financial and marketing communications industry.

The Midas Report creative ranking system is based on points earned for winning entries and provides a historical account of the highest ranking companies within the competition. Midas Report points are calculated as follows:  King Midas Award, 9 points; Gold Ingot Award, 6 points; Silver Ingot Award, 4 points; and Finalist, 1 point

South African Agencies took the lead in this year’s Midas Report with King James Cape Town as the standout for the second year in a row leading the way with a total of 38 points, up from last year by 11 points. The Jupiter Drawing Room was a close second with 35 points.

This year’s Midas Report ranking proved to be extremely competitive, with three international agencies in the spotlight tying for 5th place—M&C Saatchi Direct & Digital Communications (India), Publicis Kaplan Thaler (NY - US), and webguerillas AG (Zürich) each placed with 18 points.  Further evidence of the extremely competitive nature of this year’s report can be seen with two additional agencies tied for 6th place, both 41? 29! (Turkey) and FP7/DXB (UAE) each earned 16 points.

“We had a lot of really exciting work this year. It’s no wonder the rankings were so competitive!” said Executive Director Alisun Armstrong. “It really shows the innovative and creative work going on in these specialized communications.”

Earning a spot on the Midas Report solidifies an agency’s place as a leader in financial services advertising and marketing. The full 2013 rankings read as follows:
