20 Red Lights widens its reach from Milan into Genoa

20 Red Lights is an Italian production company, which has always been based in Milan. Since September it is now official that they opened a new office in Genoa as well, appealed by the many opportunities that the region Liguria offers for filming.

"After Petra, Blanca, Hotel Portofino, Sopravvissuti and the new Netflix series Criminel, the Liguria region has been presented as one of the most interesting filming destination in Italy at the American Film Market in Santa Monica. Over 200 production companies were present at the event, and this is a very good sign for the next productions.

The short film My eyes by Tommaso Acquarone was also presented and screened for some members of the Academy and for the American press, with the contribution of the 'Genova Liguria Film Commission' and 'in Liguria'-Regional Agency for tourism promotion. It is the only Italian short film in the running to enter the Oscars Shortlist, shot entirely in Genoa.

The documentary on Amadeo Giannini, the founder of the Bank of America, raised in Liguria, was also presented at the event. In addition to this, two appointments were organised with the main tour operators on the west coast of the United States, with the aim of seeing Liguria included in the tourist packages dedicated to Italy where it was not yet present." - Genova Today, November 6th

Liguria is expanding its horizons also thanks to a committed Film Commission, which engaged in many film productions over the years.

“Liguria is the perfect location for cinema and television, as we at 20 Red Lights well know” – said Luca De Angelis, EP of 20 Red Lights – “We decided to open an office here because we truly believe that it has much to offer. In Liguria, with short crew move, you can have it all: from the crystalline seaside to the impervious mountains, from the elegant homes to the wild woods. We have presented different locations in Liguria to many foreign clients, and it seems to us more and more often that clients respond really well to these new locations, which are distant from the same old Tuscany and Capri, and offer an interesting new look to an Italy yet to be completely uncovered.”

“We are building a strong relationship with the Genova Liguria Film Commission and engaged in the ambitious task of promoting Liguria’s beauty across the world”.
