Caviar sits down with the LA-based director for a quick-fire round of questions
Jordan Lee Bahat, born in Santa Monica, CA and raised in LA, is a director who has recently signed to Caviar Content. Caviar sat down with the Los Angeles-based director for a quick Q&A:

Q> What was your first directing gig?

Jordan Lee Bahat> The first thing I directed for somebody else was probably the music video for Grouplove’s song Colours. At the time they were an unknown band that hadn’t yet played their first show. My roommate was the drummer and record producer, so he brought me in and we pulled things together.

Q>  Top five favorite movies ever?

JLB> That’s too tough. Here’s a top 10 that I will disagree with by tomorrow. In no particular order:
1. The Third Man (dir. Carol Reed)
2. One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Next (dir. Milos Forman)
3. Raging Bull (dir. Martin Scorsese)
4. Full Metal Jacket (dir. Kubrick)
5. Bladerunner (dir. Ridley Scott)
6. Do the Right Thing (dir. Spike Lee)
7. Boogie Nights (dir. PT Anderson)
8. Children of Men (dir. Alfonso Cuarón)
9. Let The Right One In (dir. Tomas Alfredson)
10. The Thin Blue Line (dir. Errol Morris)

Q> What book would you take with you on a trip to Mars?

JLB> I don’t know if this is true, but I heard that at some point Judd Apatow dedicated a year to reading all of the books he felt he should have read but didn’t. So, while it’s probably a cheat, I’d bring an e-book filled with all the high school and college lit books I bullshitted my way through. Though I’d certainly bring a few collections of short stories in case I had to quickly read something before the battery died. Likely by Hemingway or Gabriel Garcia Marquez.

Q> Breakfast or dinner?

JLB> Breakfast.

Q> Least favorite sounds?

JLB> The sound of a dog wheezing and the Bravo Network announcer.

Q> Your most enviable talent?

JLB> I’m above average with a pair of nunchucks.

Q> Who's on your bucket list to work with?

JLB> A small sample: Trent Reznor, Nick Cave, Mark Lannigan, Bruce Springsteen, Miguel Cotto, Gennady Golovkin, Leo Messi, Georges St. Pierre, Ronda Rousey, Haruki Murakami, Cormac McCarthy, Ira Glass, Spike Jonze, PT Anderson, David Lynch, David Chase, Martin Scorsese, David Simon, Mel Brooks, Judd Apatow, Louis CK, Michael Fassbender, Daniel Day Lewis, Julianne Moore, Robert Downey Jr, Dustin Hoffman, Jennifer Lawrence, Oscar Isaac, John Goodman, Peter Bogdanavich, Roger Deakins, Emmanuel Lubezki, Rodrigo Prieto, Bob Richardson.

Q> Three words that describe your style?

JLB> If you mean my fashion style, it’d probably be utilitarian ninja normcore or inconspicuous background extra.

Q> You're having a bad day, what song do you play?

JLB> If I really want to indulge and bottom out, I’ll probably go straight for Neil Young’s My My, Hey Hey (Out of the Blue). If I want to deflect and snap out of it, I’ll go for Neil Young's Hey Hey, My My (Into The Black).

Q> What can't you go one day without?

JLB> Listening to Howard Stern.
