THE 1 BILLION HUNGRY PROJECT
One billion people in the world suffer from chronic hunger. Every 6 seconds a child dies.
So, McCann Rome endorsed a FAO (UN Food and Agriculture Organization) initiative developing a bold, global pro-bono campaign to end hunger. The 1 billion hungry project.
It’s basically an online petition; to get as many signatures as possible before the end of October, to put pressure on politicians. They wanted to create a movement of anger and indignation.
On the 11th of May they launched the campaign and the website with a commercial featuring the british actor Jeremy Irons, and a launch event broadcasted live from the FAO building.
Since then the campaign has spread across all media: TV, Print, Outdoor, Merchandising, Radio, PR, Events and, obviously, the Internet.
Everyday a new piece of communication gets added. Go to the project’s website: www.1billionhungry.org sign the petition and invite friends to sign too.
