Gathering 30 years of professional experience, Luiz Sanches is Chairman and Chief Creative Officer of AlmapBBDO (# 1 Global Agency of The Decade, according to Cannes Lions), with which he has been for 26 years. Trained as an art director, he became agency partner in 2013. He is currently a member of BBDO’s international board.
The most awarded Brazilian worldwide, he has amassed 184 Lions at Cannes Festival and 63 Pencils at D&D along his career. He was twice appointed as the creative director with the greatest performance at Cannes, a feat he has also pulled off at Gunn Report. In 2021, he is joining Cannes Festival as juror for the fifth time, and as jury president (Film and Outdoor) for the second time (2021).
He is the recipient of the world's best creative director award at the Gunn Report ranking. He features among the most creative people in the decade according to LatinSpots. At El Ojo, he has been chosen best creative director in South America for the third time. He is currently an active board member of New York City´s The One Club for Creativity and of Google´s Creative Board.
Along his history, he played an important part in the launch of memorable campaigns, influencing not only creative decisions but also business results for his clients. He also helped build one of the most important success cases in his career, Almap, one of the world’s most awarded ad agencies.
