Ali Brown is President of PRETTYBIRD, a production company devoted to pushing creative and brand opportunities across all distribution outlets. With offices in Los Angeles and London, PRETTYBIRD is home to a diverse roster of filmmakers, creatives, and collaborators producing entertainment that is creatively led and platform agnostic.
Brown began her career in the commercial and music video industry before moving over to feature films where she served as Director of Creative Affairs at Spirit Dance, a production company helmed by director/actor/producer Forest Whitaker. Upon her return to advertising, she helped build the PRETTYBIRD roster and reputation, expanding
its reach across commercials, short films, features, web series, and music videos.
PRETTYBIRD’s work has been recognized worldwide, including by the Cannes Lions International Festival of Creativity, the One Show, the Clio Awards, the London International Awards, D&AD, British Arrows, the AICP Awards, as well as being named Creativity Magazine's Top Production Company of the Year.
Through the keen creative eye of Brown, PRETTYBIRD has quickly grown its roster with a reputation for building talent and being a collaborative creative community that welcomes filmmakers from all disciplines and projects of all formats.
Ali served two terms as the AICP/West President and has acted as the Show Chair of the AICP Show for both 2020 and 2021. She has acted as a mentor for Project Involve,
AdCan, and Women in Film while also appearing on many panels including at Sundance’s New Frontier and Women in Film. She has acted as Jury President at festivals around the world including ADFEST, WHEXT, and at the Young Director’s Award in Cannes, where she was the first female president in the show’s 21 year history. She is on the board of Manifest Works, a member of the AICP’s Diversity and Inclusion Committee, and acts as the Director of Fundraising for the Fireflies West.
In 2020, Ali launched “Double The Line'' through AICP’s Equity and Inclusion Committee, an initiative which gives production and post production companies, agencies and clients the ability to create opportunities for people of color in the advertising industry.
