Communities by WhatsApp is a new feature for large groups, designed to support community leaders and make their lives easier. This film features 3 organizations from around the world, working tirelessly to advocate for, provide resources and serve the needs of their communities:  Uniaõ BR - a grassroots organization in São Paulo providing vital resources to underserved areas of the world; LULAC - the oldest Latino advocacy organization in the US; and Keluarga Kita - an education focused community connecting teachers and parents to better serve children's learning needs. The new feature from WhatsApp removes restrictions on the number of members who can be included in a group, allowing many groups' work to scale much faster and without the usual frictions. It also allows leaders to pin vital information so it isn't lost in a stream of messages, alongside many other security and privacy features that support community leaders in their important work. The film is a celebration of community and the ways WhatsApp connects us all.

Directors notes on the project:
Life is about the moments we share. And WhatsApp’s new community feature makes it easier than ever for communities to come together. We filmed with three communities around the world - in Brazil, Indonesia and the USA - to show how WhatsApp not only brings people together, it facilitates the moments that matter most. I wanted to show the heart of each community featured in the film, the people who work tirelessly on behalf of others to help  improve representation, share resources and information and educate the next generation.
