A year ago, Tata Trusts – one of India’s oldest philanthropic organizations, launched Mission Garima. Its objective was to raise awareness about the safety and dignity of sanitation workers in India. 

India has a massive waste disposal problem. The irresponsible disposal of waste by the citizens leads to drains getting clogged. And sanitation workers put their lives in danger every day as they have to clean these drains manually. Exposing them to toxic waste which leads to serious health complications and quite often, death.

#TWOBINSLIFEWINS is a digital campaign that was launched through a hard-hitting film across social media platforms. The aim was to build public awareness around sanitation workers, and rally people to get behind the movement and demand change. Not just by spreading the message but also by adopting the simple act of segregating their waste, which in turn could save lives.
