We are looking for someone who loves writing copy. You know what great content looks like. An inspiring, thoughtful and creative writer. Working as part of the Co.Lab team of Designers, Art Directors, Copywriters and Delivery Managers, you will report in to a Studio Manager and deliver innovative, data-driven and best practice copy and content. Variety is something you thrive on and moving fast keeps it interesting for you. No task is too big, actually the bigger the task the more satisfying it is to take on. The style of copy we work with is short form in most instances. Clever and punchy but always on brand.


Co.Lab is a sub-brand of CHEP made up of multi-disciplinary and autonomous studio teams, each working exclusively with a single key CHEP client.

Backed by the world-leading resources and experience of CHEP, Co.Lab teams integrate deeply with different client departments to produce agency-level work in-house.

This work spans copywriting, design and finished art across a broad range of internal and external touchpoints, both digital and print. The key word is broad. No two days are alike.

By providing agency-level services in-house, we're able to deliver high-quality work with fewer feedback rounds and shorter timeframes. Co.Lab helps keep CHEP competitive, and is an integral part of the larger agency group.

That's why we need a writer with experience. Someone confident enough to work autonomously, curious enough to learn new things, and ready to adapt to a wide variety of work and competing demands.  


  • Deliver copywriting for digital and print executions across a broad range of customer touchpoints on one of our key accounts, including eDM, DM, print collateral, POS, social and site content.
  • Assist with the development of bespoke client communications such as internal campaigns, B2B packs and sales decks.
  • Maintain and contribute to the evolution of the communication strategy though brand voice, vocabulary, phrasing and adherence to brand standards.
  • Be familiar with content marketing and native advertising, and be able to strategically determine the application of tone by placement and audience.
  • Build and manage relationships with internal and external stakeholders to ensure content deliverables perform against KPIs.
  • Have a clear understanding and ability to use and switch between tone of voice.
  • Collaborate with internal client teams, particularly marketing, product, CRM and brand teams.
  • Adhere to campaign and task briefs, budgets and timings.
  • Attend all necessary agency and client meetings.
  • Proof and check your own copy and other copy as required.
  • Develop strong relationships within the agency and with clients founded on a culture of honesty, respect and reliability.
  • As a mid-weight Copywriter you will required to develop strong, productive relationships with the people you work with. Key to this will be developing strong relationships with:

Clients – you will be required to develop strong client relationships. This will be a genuine partnership founded on an understanding of the client business, marrying it with the agency agenda resulting in a fruitful and positive relationship where great work can flourish. Internal Stakeholders – key relationships will be with Art Directors, Designers, Delivery Managers, other Copywriters and the Head of Studio, with whom you will need to work in partnership with to develop responses to client briefs.


Technical capabilities

  • A relevant University degree or similar
  • Minimum of 4 years of copywriting within either Agency and or Corporate environments.
  • Experience working across consumer and commercial content types.
  • A folio of work that you are proud of and willing to share with us.
