Johnny Foreigner has been single handedly run and managed by founder Olivia Hirschberg for the last 9 and a half years. The time has come to find another Olivia; a partner to expand the business.
Johnny Foreigner is an agent representing freelance directors to production companies in the UK. Our clients are mostly in-house production companies within big agencies, but we also supply directors to smaller integrated agencies, digital agencies, traditional production companies, post houses or anyone needing a freelance director to realise their ideas. Johnny Foreigner also has offices in Los Angeles and Prague.
We have established ourselves in the market as one of the top agents in our field and enjoy our reputation as a trustworthy and responsive entity supplying only the best directors to our valued and loyal clients. We pride ourselves on representing the creme de la creme of the freelancers and as such the briefs we receive mostly have decent budgets and juicy scripts.
The time has come to expand and grow the company, take on more directors and expand our client base. As the industry is now regaining momentum, we also need another Olivia to handle the workload. A typical week is anywhere between 15 - 40 hours long, dealing with clients and their director enquiries, handling director's schedules, overseeing treatments, handling PR and social media and nurturing and growing our client base. Not to mention viewing reels and vetting Director applications.
The ideal candidate has 5+ years of production experience, knows the advertising industry, its procedures and its key players. He / she has a creative eye and understands what makes a good showreel and how to sell it to hook a pitch. He / she can think laterally and creatively and knows how to guide a treatment. He / she is organised enough to work on their own but also understands what it is to be in a team to drive the company forward, together. This is a fabulous opportunity for anyone wanting to create an exciting role for themselves by utilising their strengths and network to move the company in whichever direction we both agree on. There are many options...
We only have a virtual office so it's all about remote working with weekly meetings in Soho / Central London.
I gave up my role as a full time producer and became an agent when I started my family. I wanted to keep a foot in the industry and yet not be beholden to the tight deadlines and stresses of a production. I imagine our ideal candidate being in a similar situation.
The Salary will be dependent on what the candidate brings to the party, but with a mix of basic salary and commission the annual remuneration will hopefully be around £40-50k
The vacancy is open until the right person is found.
Many thanks for reading.
