ROLE: Integrated Designer
LOCATION: London, N1
A LITTLE BIT ABOUT THE ROLE:
Oliver powers The Guardian’s in-house creative studio and is responsible for most of the brand's advertising. Over the last three years, we have supported The Guardian’s mission to fund and maintain its important, impactful reporting and helped keep it freely available to millions of readers around the world.
We are looking for an Integrated Designer to help further drive the creative excellence and digital capabilities on one of our most exciting and awarded accounts.
WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING:
You’ll be joining a permanent on-site team of 12 others, and in this autonomous and fast-paced environment, you’ll be expected to draw upon your digital design experience and know just how to get on with things first time – especially on fast turn-around projects.
As an Integrated Designer – there will be an expectation on encouraging digital and social-first thinking. Your passion for digital trends and interaction design will be a source for inspiration for the entire team and you’ll be comfortable providing best practice recommendations for all things online.
Your day-to-day will be on-site at The Guardian’s lovely offices in London’s Kings Cross. The area is no longer the heaving cess-pit of yore. It’s wildly gentrified and filled with lovely shops, restaurants and fashionable students from Central St. Martins. It's a fun, inspiring and central location to work from.
This role can provide a pivotal step in your career, one where your skillset and personal brand will develop a great deal. You’ll also learn from Oliver’s unique inside ideas business model. And that means you’ll join only a handful of conceptual creatives with experience in an on-site way of working – an approach that is making the industry sit up and take notice.
WHAT YOU WILL NEED TO BE GREAT IN THIS ROLE:
The ideal Integrated Designer will bring to the role a solid background in multi-channel design with ability to identify creative consistency across all essential design principles
and will enjoy taking ownership of their work and ideas whilst championing the brand.
You will be expected to design and create assets for online and digital display ads, email campaigns, social campaign and more. Some of it will require HTML coding. Non-digital formats and concepts will be required on an ad-hoc basis.
High proficiency in Adobe CC suite applications including Photoshop, Illustrator and InDesign and a good working knowledge of HTML5 is a must. CSS3 is a bonus.
