Jonnie Walker marked red carpet season through their 'Fabric of film' ad, to honour groundbreaking women filmmakers while calling on people to embrace more female-made films. The piece, which is presented as a “red carpet,” debuted during The Oscars, a ceremony that has often overlooked the contributions made by women to the field.

We were tasked to create a composition of rich textured interlocking rhythms that come together to create a bigger picture, the aim was to mimic the intricately woven patterns of our red carpet alternative — the main event of our spot.

The result is a loud, disruptive percussion-based track that aims grab your attention in the same way as the carpet is meant to signal and challenge the industry’s quiet but ubiquitous gender norms.

RESISTER brought on female composer Adina to drive the messaging of the campaign. Adina says; "As a woman composer working in film myself and always looking to amplify female-led narratives, I was beyond excited to work alongside Resister in creating the music for this campaign that aligns so well with my own values."
