Although 2021 saw further expansion of Subway’s plant-based menu, the brand’s true commitment to a plant-based future was not on the radar of the UK’s growing vegan community. So on Earth Day, Subway showed the UK there’s so much more to ‘plant-based’ than just food, by taking it into a completely new space - The UK Grime music scene. Using PlantWave technology, we extracted the low frequency sounds emitted by the plants on Subway’s plant-based menu, and took them into the studio with notorious vegan grime artist P Money and vegan producers Star.One – creating the track ‘Vegang’. Made with the real sounds of plants, and created by plant-based artists.Launching the track on Earth Day brought Subway to the forefront of the plant-based conversation, gaining a new level of respect and awareness from the UK vegan community and beyond.
