Our client Microsoft had a difficultly broad audience to talk to (everyone from deep techs to high-end enterprise decision makers) and a dry topic to talk about: the launch of their new Azure Data Centres. Our objective was to launch the Azure Data Centres, create awareness, generate trials and ultimately get IT Pros, Developers and Microsoft Partners to open Azure accounts (2,500 trials per month and 20,000 by the end of FY15). Microsoft had a great story to tell for customers in bringing their data centres on-shore from the US to Australian soil, as it would solve customers' concerns about data sovereignty, disaster recovery and server scalability. Trouble was, all their new local competitors would be saying that too. So we needed something disruptive. Immersive. Something that had never been done with data this BIG before. We turned dots and dashes, into something memorable that would engage our audience. Something with primal, universal appeal: art and musical sound.
