Wagamama - Dublin

Underneath Stephen’s Green Shopping Centre…fast, healthy Japanese food. Not some place you go for a long leisurely meal but if you’re in a hurry it’s a good spot (not counting the occasional queues).
L’Geueleton

Very popular french restaurant. Good atmosphere, good food.
Keshk Café

This is a new discovery – it’s wonderful! It’s not fancy, but the food is great. The menu is a mix of Middle Eastern / Egyptian food.
I highly recommend the vegetarian moussaka! The staff are lovely and the atmosphere is great. They have a great bring your own wine policy with no corkage charge – and there’s an off licence next door – you can’t go wrong!
It’s very popular so you will need to book.
Bar With No Name/ The Secret Bar

There’s a great bar agove L’Geueleton which has no name over the door but is up the stairs. A little hit and miss depending on what night it is but worth a visit.
The Market Bar

Nice bar just across from L’Geuleton, good for tapas.
The International

Great comedy improv in the evenings
Keoghs

Good old fashioned Dublin pub where the pints are great and so is the atmosphere
Stag’s Head

Great pub!
Nearys

Recently voted the number 1 bar in Dublin…old style, good for pints and conversation.
Maloti

Parallel St – on South William St – really good indian food.
Saba

On Clarendon St. beside the Westbury hotel, thai & Vietnamese food and cocktails to compliment – very popular.
Chez Max

Lovely french restaurants. Yummy food, good wine list as one would expect and really nice atmosphere. Sittings at 7pm and 9pm every evening. You’ll need to book.
The Winding Stair

On Bachelor’s Walk near the Ha’penny Bridge. Recently redone and given a new lease of life, this place has to be booked a few days in advance to get a table. The food is getting rave reviews. Wholesome Irish type fare with a dollop of imagination.
Eden

Trendyish restaurant which has been around for a few years but can still hold it’s own. Good menu, yummy food, good service and tucked away in the non touristy, slightly more sane part of Temple Bar. Really good spot for brunch especially on Saturday where you can savour the hustle and bustle of the Saturday farmers market in the square just outside the resraurant.
Il Baccaro

A really lovely Italian restaurant serving rustic type dishes with not a pizza in sight. Opposite Eden, it’s housed in an old cellar which only ads to the cosy, intimate astmosphere. Great food, nice all Italian staff and very reasonably priced.
Chapter One Restaurant

This is a really lovely restaurant, it has been around for a while and has managed to remain one of Dublin’s most popular eateries. Great for pre-theatre dinner (The Gate – wonderful theatre is just near by) – you can go back afterwards for your dessert. Very relaxed atmosphere and super duper service.
Brasserie Sixty6

Really nice atmosphere and décor – low key and buzzy. They overstretch themselves a bit with their extensive dinner menu, concentrate a bit too much on the quantity. They do have a separate good vegetarian menu though. Great venue for brunch – 11 – 17.00 at the weekends.
Town Bar & Grill

Located in the old cellars of Mitchell’s Wine Merchants on Kildare St. – this modern trattoria style restaurant specialises in modern Italian cooking presented in a style more commonly found in New York’. One of the ‘in’ places at the moment. You can usually find a celebrity or politician stuffing their faces in here.
Mermaid Café

Not far from Eden, you’ll find the Mermaid Café on Dame st., very close to the Olympia theatre. Well known for it’s great fish dishes. Nicely, nautically decorated and well known for it’s delicious food. Big windows facing onto Dame St. which can make for some interesting people watching. Also a good spot for brunch on Sunday.
Ely Bar

A huge selection of fantastic wines to chose from by the bottle and glass…the food is pretty yummy too.
