Keep it Christmassy – or not – with our top picks from the past seven days

There’s plenty of talk in the political world about how much of a ‘normal’ Christmas this one will be – and in a year when the word normal has been redefined multiple times, there’s much to be said about this. Keeping up with the trend of what is normal, kitchen towel brand Plenty shows off the reality of Christmas, warts and all, in a hilarious campaign showing off the ‘Xmess’ side of the festive season rarely depicted in spots. While Tesco rethinks the naughty list in a film set to Britney’s ‘Oops I did it again’ forgiving those little not-so-nice things we’ve all done throughout the year.

This week also saw the release of the much-awaited Spanish Christmas Lottery spot that touched upon the notion of sharing throughout the years. Taking us from the ‘40s to the present day, Contrapunto BBDO says ‘Sharing always. Sharing like never before’ with a 90-second film that’s sure to bring a tear to the eye. And in a step away from all things festive, Hyundai explores the notion that we’re all in charge of our tomorrow in a hypnotic film for the brand’s electric vehicle, IONIQ.
