Who Were the Big Winners at the UK Music+Sound Awards?
The winners of the 2015 Music+Sound Awards were announced last night, during a glittering ceremony hosted by TV comedian and presenter, Rob Deering, at the iconic Café de Paris, in London’s Piccadilly.
The awards, running for the fourth year, honour the art of music composition, supervision and sound design in advertising and the rest of the media.
Record Label, Ninja Tune, won for their work with funk/soul rockers, The Heavy, on Abbott Mead Vickers BBDO’s Guinness ad, ‘The Sapeurs’, while the collaboration between Peugeot, BETC and Warner Music won best Band+Brand category with their campaign starring Lykke Li and her track ‘Gunshot’.
Soho Music were two time winners for their sync in Land Rover and Virgin Galactic ad featuring New York artist, Son Lux’s track ‘Lost in Trying’ and for their composition by MJ Cole for Grey London’s Schwartz ‘The Sound of Taste’ spot.
Sound Design stars included Tony Rappaciolli at Wave Studios for AMV BBDO’s Sainsbury’s ‘Christmas is For Sharing’ campaign.
Gilbert, from dance band ‘Crystal Fighters’, entertained revellers at the after party, feeling well at home with the crowd having many sync projects under his belt himself including Samsung’s TV commercial ‘One Samsung’, Marks & Spencer’s ‘Make Today Delicious’, HBO show ‘Girls’ and hit TV series ‘Skins’.
