Leaves role at OgilvyAction to become Group Managing Director

Ogilvy Melbourne has announced the appointment of Sean Taylor to the newly-created position of Group Managing Director.

Taylor will undertake the new role while maintaining his current position as CEO of OgilvyAction, reporting to the new CEO of Ogilvy Australia, David Fox. As part of his new duties, he will work with the heads of business units across the Ogilvy Melbourne group, and the national leadership team to drive growth, maximise collaboration and foster talent.

STW CEO Michael Connaghan said of the appointment: “Sean brings with him a wealth of experience and his natural, charismatic leadership style is highly regarded. This leadership ability was a major factor in appointing him to this position, and I’m sure he will be a great success in this role.”

Taylor said he was looking forward to working with the established and talented Ogilvy Melbourne team, and David Fox to reinforce the group’s strong local position.

“We have an incredible management team and talented specialists here in Melbourne who are all executing outstanding work for their clients. I’m looking forward to working with each of them to ensure continued growth, identify additional opportunities and ensure we further reinforce our market-leading position.”

Taylor joined OgilvyAction in October 2012, and is recognised as one of the country’s most dynamic activation and promotional agency leaders. Prior to joining Ogilvy, he owned one of Australia’s largest independent activation agencies before to its acquisition by the Photon Group, now Enero. Sean left Photon as Group CEO Activation.
