Joydeep Dey Hired as Chief Strategy Officer on WPP's Ford Team

Latest executive hire strengthens brand and CX offering across key WPP account

VMLY&R announced today Joydeep Dey will join the agency as global chief strategy officer on WPP’s Ford account, which spans marketing communications, experiences, technology, and commerce. Dey will serve as the strategic interface for WPP’s multi-agency team, working in close partnership with Jason Xenopoulos, the global chief creative officer on the Ford business.

An experienced, hybrid strategist, Dey has a varied background in brand and creative strategy, consumer insight and experience, digital business transformation, performance marketing, and media distribution. 

Most recently, he served as Publicis Groupe’s global head of strategy for Citigroup where he led global strategy teams across creative, cultural insights, performance, analytics, and media.

Prior to Publicis, Dey was the chief strategy officer of MMC (Omnicom), where he helped build the agency’s strategy & analytics practice.  Before that, he held leadership positions at Google, Saatchi & Saatchi, and others. Having worked on complex categories with Procter & Gamble, American Express, IBM, HSBC, Pfizer, Novartis, Nestlé and Kimberly-Clark’s Kleenex, Dey understands how the intersection of brand, digital, and consumer experiences create the most powerful business-driving marketing strategies.

A first-generation Indian American, Dey is dedicated to supporting underrepresented communities through his professional craft and personal passions.
