Huge & do bem Encourage Healthier Brazilians with First Brazilian-Made Smartband

Huge and do bem, a leading Rio-based natural juice company, are proud to announce the launch of do bem máquina – the very first Brazilian-made smartband.

The new smartband will measure users’ body movements and sleep patterns, compiling and analysing data through the app. By registering daily activities such as the number of steps taken, calories burned and distance travelled, the smartband encourages users to lead healthier lives by assessing levels of exertion and tracking progress.

“Our goal in designing do bem máquina was to simplify users’ lives while encouraging healthy lifestyles,” said Eduardo Torres, Vice President and Managing Director of Huge Latin America. “We’re incredibly proud to have had a hand in launching Brazil’s very first smartband.”

Huge worked with do bem to coordinate stakeholder interviews and rapidly test band prototypes and architecture design solutions. Huge provided overall business strategy and front-end design for the launch. 

Four different LED colours (red, yellow, green and blue) indicate varying levels of activity so users can easily track their progress. It takes the smartband only three seconds to track a user’s sleep pattern, syncing with the app to produce easy-to-read graphics that help improve sleep. Made entirely of silicon, the smartband is lightweight, comfortable to wear and water-resistant. 

“In 2012, we felt the need to give a more complete experience to our users. We know that they already had our juices as a healthy fuel for their bodies, but we needed to provide them more information. That’s how do bem máquina was born,” said Marcos Leta, do bem Founder and President.
