Heart & Stroke Foundation Video Goes Viral

Targets Guinness record at Canada’s Wonderland Heart & Stroke Foundation Video Goes Viral

The Heart and Stroke Foundation’s (HSF) horror movie-style PSA is receiving praise around the globe and has more than 500,000 views on YouTube in just over a week. Now, HSF is looking to make history by giving thousands of Canadians a chance to learn how to save lives, with a mass CPR (cardiovascular pulmonary resuscitation) training event at Canada’s Wonderland on Thursday, October 25.

“Our goal is for the Heart and Stroke Foundation to beat the Singapore Heart Association’s record of 7,909 people trained in CPR in one place at one time,” said Mark Holland, Director of Health Promotion and Public Affairs at HSF. “We’re halfway there with more than 4,000 tickets sold, so help us make history and join us on October 25. Be part of a world record and learn life-saving CPR at the same time.”

The Guinness World Records event is part of a province-wide Heart and Stroke Foundation CPR campaign to raise awareness and increase the numbers of Ontarians trained in CPR. The campaign began with the launch of The Undeading PSA, which has received news coverage all over the world including CBS News and the Washington Post as well as the Daily Mail in the UK and all across Canada. In addition to the Wonderland event, HSF will conduct CPR training in various Ontario communities throughout November.

Details: Tickets for the CPR event are only $14.99, which is 60 per cent off the regular admission price. Gates open at 5:30 p.m. and close at 6:45 p.m. Admission gives participants full access to the park’s rides and Halloween Haunt events. You must be 13 years of age or older.
