By winning the business Ogilvy Social.Lab Amsterdam will have the honour of partnering with the European Para Championships, which will be hosted for the first time in 2023 in Rotterdam

The European Para Championships (EPC) selected Ogilvy Social.Lab Amsterdam through a competitive pitch as its agency in the lead-up to its first-ever edition that will be held during the summer of 2023 in Rotterdam, the Netherlands. Ogilvy Social.Lab will develop the strategy, branding, and creative execution for EPC. Their goal: to create awareness around the event as well as uplift the support from the wider European public and facilitate a movement to continuously increase the support of parasports.

Ogilvy’s campaign for EPC will support Team TOC, the initiator and owner of EPC, in the campaign development and execution. The ambition is to accelerate the support for all sports and ensure an increase of supporters, viewers, and athletes for years to come. By creating a global standard for parasports through this campaign as well as the EPC, Team TOC hopes to inspire people from all backgrounds to believe in opportunities instead of limitations and play sports and exercise – with or without disabilities.

The European Para Championships is bringing multiple parasports together and combining this into a European multisport event. For this impactful multisport event, EPC will be welcoming people from all over Europe to the Netherlands, a country that has had a leading role in the parasports industry for years. The Netherlands has proven to be phenomenal in organising big international sport events, and with Rotterdam as being the next biggest sports stadium in Europe, it makes it the perfect place to host EPC’s first-ever edition.

“As organiser of the European Para Championships, we believe that sport and vitality bring us closer together as a society”, says Eric Kersten, CEO European Para Championships. “We are therefore very  committed to organising Paralympic sports events. With Ogilvy Social.Lab Amsterdam, we have contracted a partner who shares our international ambition and aspiration to secure the existence of the European Para Championships for the future. With an event reoccurring every four years, it will be a true partnership for hopefully many years to come”.

“With the inclusive approach of the European Para Championships for all parasports and our ongoing focus on diversity and inclusion, our expertise in telling captivating stories through our strategy, branding and creative execution, this partnership is the ideal opportunity to put a spotlight on parasports in Europe and beyond”, says Jai Kotecha, CEO Ogilvy Social.Lab Amsterdam. “Our team is excited to play a key role in the advancement of this initiative and we look forward to making this campaign an international success.”

Ogilvy Social.Lab, part of the global Ogilvy network, has been increasing their sports clients over the past year with the addition of the European Para Championships injecting more energy into this arena. With Ogilvy Social.Lab’s continuous focus on diversity and inclusion, this new win is celebrated by the entire agency as it is the perfect match to create an impactful campaign around such a much needed and  inclusive initiative. Ogilvy Social.Lab is beyond excited to ensure, through this partnership, that adaptive sports will receive the (media) attention they deserve. Ogilvy encourages everyone who loves sports to support the athletes taking part in this extraordinary event. See you at EPC2023!
