Fabric DJ Craig Richards and BACARDÍ use the sounds of 100,000 bats to create unique dance track released today on 300 limited edition vinyl
The unique electronic music track, dubbed Bacardi Bat Cave, was created by Fabric resident DJ Craig Richards… and the sounds created by the movements of an airborne colony of bats.
The remix, which launched globally on SoundCloud, features the movements of 100,000 bats. The sound of the bats was originally recorded live at SXSW festival using one of the world’s largest bat colonies in Austin, Texas, so-called “Bat Mecca”.
As artist in residence and musical director for Fabric, Craig Richards is world renowned for continually exploring new and emerging genres. However, this is the first time that he, or any other major DJ, has used live bat movements to create music. Click here to listen to the remix.
The project was developed by London hot shop Mr. President.
