BBDO Tops Warc 100 Ranking of World's Smartest Campaigns

15 campaigns created by BBDO agencies around the world make the list

Warc, the global provider of ideas and evidence to marketing people, has launched the Warc 100, an annual ranking of the world’s best marketing campaigns as based on performance in effectiveness and strategy competitions.  BBDO Worldwide had the most campaigns on the top 100 list of any global agency network.

In all, 15 campaigns created by BBDO agencies around the world were ranked among the top 100, including the #3 campaign, “It’s more fun in the Philippines” from BBDO Guerrero.  Campaigns covered 15 global, regional and local clients and were created by 12 BBDO and Proximity agencies from every geographic region:  Almap BBDO, Brazil; AMV BBDO, London; BBDO Belgium; BBDO China; BBDO Guerrero, Philippines; BBDO New York; BBDO San Francisco; Clemenger BBDO, Australia; Colenso BBDO, New Zealand; Proximity Beijing; Proximity New Zealand; and Sancho BBDO, Colombia.

“The Warc 100 ranks the best of the best,” said Louise Ainsworth, CEO of Warc.  “Its purpose is to help brands and agencies keep up to date with strategies that have a commercial impact, and to benchmark their own performance against their peers.”

The Warc 100 has been developed to reflect the growing importance of strategic thinking and measurement rigor in marketing.  It will showcase the best work from around the world and will help raise awareness of the leading cases.  This year’s rankings were based on more than 1,700 winners in 75 different competitions.  Points were assigned based on the awards won (e.g., Gold, Silver, Bronze), then weighted based on the competition’s rigor and prestige within the global industry.

BBDO’s performance in the Warc 100 follows the news last month that the agency has also been named the most effective agency network in the world in the 2014 Effie Effectiveness Index.  Earlier in the year, BBDO was also the best-performing network in the inaugural Warc Prize for Social Strategy, which recognized the best examples of strategy that drive conversation, sharing, participation or advocacy.
