Da Laura
ItalianCannes, France

All Cannesed out and in need of some spirited Italian hospitality? Then try Da Laura. Located at the corner of rue du 24 Aout and rue Hoche, it's only a short walk from the Palais des Festivals but a world away from the Croisette. A favourite haunt for locals in-the-know, Da Laura is the place to go for rustic Italian cooking, with the fresh house ravioli leading the way. Endorsed by Cannes' Italian community, the eponymous Laura is on-hand to greet regulars with a kiss and some gossip. Its prices are very reasonable and, although small and unpretentious, its decor is bang on-trend. Drinks are served with a freshly sliced charcuterie, which is likely to tempt your tastebuds into staying for a full meal (we advise rounding-off with some Muscado). Reservations are recommended now that Da Laura's secret is out. A note to sun avoiders: you'll find more shade here than on the Croisette.
